The Ideonomy Project

“The Science of Ideas.”

Unlocking New Ways to Stimulate, Understand and Explore Ideas:

What is Ideonomy?

Ideonomy is an idea, a grandiose, ambitious, and exciting idea for the stimulation, examination, and understanding of… ideas!

Ideonomy was conceived by the late Patrick Gunkel, who described it as a “Science of ideas.” He dreamed of creating tools and methodologies that could be used to examine anything in great depth, and in doing so generate new ideas. He termed these tools ‘organons’, taking the word from Aristotle.

The Ideonomy Project aims to build on Patrick Gunkel’s concepts, and to take advantage of the advances in AI that he had anticipated. It is intended to be a collaborative project, hopefully attracting people from a wide spectrum of interests, who all share some interest in expanding their horizons.

Our goal is to uncover patterns, foster innovation, and build bridges between disciplines. By doing so, we hope to not only expand our collective horizons but also create practical tools that inspire and empower new ways of thinking.

How Ideonomy Works:

Connect. Create. Collaborate.

  1. Connect: Discover the relationships between ideas through dynamic organons—living maps of thought.

  2. Create: Use organons to inspire new ideas, solve problems, and uncover patterns in knowledge.

  3. Collaborate: Join a growing community of thinkers, creators, and innovators.
